West 12th Street House

This two-level “Vancouver Special” house was gutted down to the studs. New HVAC, plumbing, electrical and lighting were installed before the finish work began. We installed the client selected Poggenpohl kitchen cabinets, new countertops, appliances, fixtures and fittings. Over 2,000 square feet of bamboo flooring was installed, including the custom stairs with LED lighting on a timer. Leftover flooring was fashioned into a custom vanity in the master bathroom (last photo) to complement the marble vessel sinks and pebble floor in the shower. The bamboo was clear coated with an environmentally sound product to enhance durability and maintenance.

For budgetary purposes, IKEA vanities were used in both the large children’s bath and the master bathroom. The children’s bath has a separate compartment for the toilet, shower and bathtub, allowing this room the flexibility of being used by all three children at once. The wood burning fireplace was retained, but upgraded with new marble surround in modern, horizontal pattern.
